Floki has confirmed an upcoming tournament for Valhalla, its metaverse game that recently went live on the opBNB mainnet.

According to an announcement on X, the tournament will be the first for Valhalla, with gamers offered a prize pool of $75,000. While the Floki (FLOKI) team plans to release details of when the event drops later, it has hinted at a mega grand prize of $25,000 for one winner.

Valhalla’s debut tournament in brief:

  • Tournament prize pool of $75,000
  • 64 Vikings to win, with one grand prize of $25,000
  • Details, including date to be announced

How many winners for Valhalla’s first tournament?

In total, Valhalla will offer an opportunity for 64 Vikings to win from the $75,000 prize pool.

As noted, one Viking will win the grand prize of $25,000. Floki will provide more details ahead of the tournament’s rollout.

The Floki ecosystem

The flagship play-to-earn game, designed as a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, recently went live after more than three years in development

Floki dubbed Valhalla as one of the biggest blockchain-based game initiatives, a huge part of the project’s expansion beyond its origins as a memecoin.

However, Floki has also launched other crypto-related ventures over the years. These include: a decentralized domain service, Floki Name Service, the Floki Trading Bot, and the Floki crypto card offered in partnership with Mastercard, which supports several blockchains.

What does Valhalla offer?

While the bot, crypto debit cards and the TokenFi platform are a huge part of the Floki cryptocurrency ecosystem Valhalla, and its P2E potential, stood out as the most anticipated ahead of its release in June.

Its debut on the opBNB mainnet saw the FLOKI token’s value explode. A confluence of bullish catalysts included a regulatory milestone with the Markets in Crypto Assets license and a major partnership with Webull Pay.

Valhalla’s play-to-earn game features non-fungible token creatures called Veras. These NFTs are a player’s servants in the Viking-themed game, with holders able to trade, sell, or own. Importantly, players have the opportunity to earn real rewards, both through gameplay and with the in-game assets they own.

Floki aims to capitalize on the success of early adoption and the resurgence in blockchain gaming to expand Valhalla’s reach. The $75,000 prize pool could be a major incentive for gamers, all part of a multi-million dollar FLOKI treasury fund aimed for in-game rewards among other initiatives.
